take 2

I'm going to attempt to rewrite the last post that got floggenheimer'd by google. Fuckin a, I have a really bad memory and the last one was stelllar.

It's late, got home from the lib early (10:30pm) because it was becoming real, real depressing. I'm working on my last memo for R&W, it's consuming my life. But don't worry, I'll be stalking my teacher tomorrow, as well as the registrar at school to make sure they sent my fuckin rank to the fuckin last school I applied to. I didn't get into Denver. Not really a big surprise, but ya know I wanted to see the Colorado mountains and meet a hot snowboarding instructor. UB's decision should be coming soon and I applied to PSU on Monday. When I got the letter from Denver, I knew it was an immediate DENIED because it was 1 sheet in a little envelope. I propose that if you want to deny me, just send me a postcard with the words DENIED stamped in red letters and save the trees. Stop wasting paper to tell me that you appreciate my application (and my $60 non-refundable application fee) but we regret to inform you....DIE.

So the last post was centered around an email I received from a friend who is also a classmate, and it goes a lil somethin like this

You should write a post listing the comparisons of life before and after law school. For example:
Our Nightmares are now of having to be a slave to the "Big Firm", where we work 20 hrs a day
versus
the General fear of being hacked to death by an unknown creature lurking in the dark.--this now pales in comparison to the first one!!
Some other topics to ponder
How we have Fun or celebrate:
The way we talk to others
The way we used to have sex
How often we have suicidal thoughts
etc.

Just a thought!!

So my last post already went through the nightmares of the 18 hour work day, sleeping under my desk. So what do law students like to do for fun? Well, that's an interesting concept. Fun, what is it? I remember what it used to be. Now, besides drinking the cheapest beer, liquor or wine available, we have to take what we have and run with it. So the local dive where you run into everyone from class also drinking cheap beer is fun. Finishing a section of your outline is superfun. Managing to cook food for yourself, bathing, cleaning your apartment, doing your hair. While these things may seem superficial and mundane, it's a good (fun) day if you can accomplish this. Then of course there's catching the occasional movie to get your mind off of school, walking around the mall or town, looking at stuff you can't afford. Which then makes you notice all the other people around you who are smiling and carefree. What the fuck do they have to be happy about? Huh?? STOP LAUGHING AT ME

Every law student gets complaints from non-law-people about how they talk. It's because we are now thinking differently, critically some may even say. The point is, a simple question from you may sound complicated in my mind. For example
Friend: Do you like this sweater?
Me: What do you mean, do I like that sweater? Do I like the shape, the color, the cut? Do I like the fit, the brand, the material? Do I like it on me, or on you?
I know this sounds like a bad conversation with Dr. Seuss, but law school just makes you think differently. I can't watch Law & Order criminal intent EVER, unless I'm too tired to point out all the things that are wrong with that episode. (SVU I will never give up, love you Liv). Billboards and commercials always seem worded wrong to me and out of context. But the good news is, the longer I'm in school, the more I'm able to filter and block out stuff. If I didn't, I wouldn't be able to watch Family Guy and American Dad, and you just can't take that away from me!! EVER

As for the sex issue, I don't have a sex life, unless you count my sex dreams about getting A's and book awards.

Anywho, since I can't get to sleep because of my ingestion of stimulants throughout the day, I decided to paint my nails. Unfort, I am impatient and I almost never let them dry. In fact, I'm typing with wet nails right now. The other unfort part is that I like painting my nails, but I can't afford the quickdry nail polish, so I am forever doomed to have bumpy Braile nails. Oh I forgot, also what I like to do for fun is go on fmylife.com, it makes me less sad when other people are having a worse day. TFLN, also a good one. And also looking at these during class. If I'm ever in class with you and I randomly bust out laughing, it's because I was on one of those sites. Tomorrow at the lib, I am really gonna try hard to take pics, incognitus, of the fashion happening RIGHT NOW at school. The good, the bad, the snuggie. Yes, the snuggie, I bring it to the lib with me, it stays in the trunk of my car. Not only because it snuggly, but because although it's 90 degrees outside, its 45 in the lib and my body can't handle the extreme temperature changes.

I'm gonna take a sleeping pill, read some more of the associate, have nightmares of the associate and do a lather, rinse, repeat tomorrow. Nitey.
